The Federal Ministry of Trade announced that the total quantities of local wheat that were marketed to silos and the marketing centers of the General Company for Grain Trade exceeded (643) thousand tons, and it is constantly increasing.
The Director General of the General Company for Grain Trade, Muhammad Hanoun, said in a statement, that the marketing season this year witnessed the entry of the Shatrah and Karbala mineral silos into service after the wheat was received from farmers and marketers, to give a new addition to the storage capacities, which will be supportive of Iraqi food security. Especially after the official trend to import millions of tons of wheat.
He added, that the total quantities of wheat that were received in the branches and locations of the company that began receiving it amounted to (643.661) thousand tons.
Hanzan reviewed the distribution of marketed quantities to the sites and according to each governorate, Muthanna (56,550) thousand tons, Basra (18,776) thousand tons, Dhi Qar (50,225) thousand tons, Maysan (46.030) thousand tons, Wasit (207.227) thousand tons, and Diwaniyah (74,433) thousand tons, Karbala (32,297) thousand tons, Babel (54048) thousand tons, Najaf (29,177) thousand tons, Diyala (2.765) thousand tons, Anbar (32.197) thousand tons, and Salah al-Din (31,400) thousand tons.
While the quantities marketed to the Baghdad / Rusafa silo sites amounted to (6,111) thousand tons, Khan Dhari silo (407,920) tons, Al Dora silo (1,354) tons, and Al Taji silo (658) tons.
And he indicated, that the members of the Central Committee for Marketing and over the past two days have been in the marketing centers to follow up the marketing campaign and to be present among farmers and farmers to listen to them, overcome all obstacles and find urgent and immediate solutions to them.
He pointed out that the accounting staff in the company's branches continues to disburse the marketed wheat for this 2022 season, after allocating the funds and transferring them to the branches so that the instruments are delivered without delay to be an incentive for farmers to advance their agricultural reality.
