The Ministry of Trade in the Kurdistan Region announced on Saturday that the prices of goods and foodstuffs will decrease in the region.
The ministry said in a statement that "the drop in prices is due to several reasons, the first of which is the agreement between Russia and Ukraine, in addition to raising customs duties by the regional government on imported goods."
The statement added, "The decision to raise customs duties will continue until next September, and the government will study the situation after that to take a new decision."
The statement continued, "The regional government's stores in all governorates are now full, which will help reduce prices in the markets gradually."
