Today, Monday, the Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of an arrest warrant against a former deputy minister; for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of a private company.
A statement by the Authority's Investigation Department stated, "The Second Karkh Investigation Court issued an arrest warrant against the (former) Deputy Minister of Electricity, for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of a private company."
The statement indicated that "the arrest warrant issued by the court came based on the provisions of Article (Second of Resolution 160 of 1983) for his requesting a sum of money in return for awarding one of the tenders announced in the Ministry of Electricity to the complainant's company."
