Al-Fatlawi praises the Kurdistan Democratic Party and calls on Iraqi parties to follow its example
Shafaq News/ The head of the "Irada" movement, MP Hanan Al-Fatlawi, praised on Sunday the Kurdistan Democratic Party's interest in women and their representation of important political positions in the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Fatlawi said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by Shafak News Agency, "Despite my disagreement with some of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's policies, but what counts towards women is that the head of the parliamentary bloc is a woman, the bloc's spokesman is a woman, and the spokesperson for Barzani (party leader Massoud Barzani) is a woman."
She added, "Three women from different religions...hope that the rest of the parties will follow suit."
The Kurdistan Democratic Party had appointed Khaleda Khalil as an official spokesman for President Massoud Barzani's headquarters.
Khalil is one of the personalities that has made her mark in the Iraqi and Arab cultural movement, as she holds a doctorate in Arabic literature. She is a writer and writer who won many awards and has more than eight books on literature, criticism and politics.
Khalil previously held the position of Adviser to the Presidency of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region, and a representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the Iraqi parliament in its fourth session.
Khaleda Khalil belongs to the Yazidi component that was subjected to a genocide in Iraq in 2014.
