The General Airlines Company announced, on Wednesday, that it has started maintaining and updating the electronic reservation system, with a view to reactivating it during the next period after a hiatus of more than a year as a result of a defect in the central systems.
The Director of Airlines, Karim Kazem Hassan, said in a statement reported by the official newspaper, "The company is currently working on adopting new and advanced systems to keep pace with international airlines, taking many steps in this regard, such as adopting the aircraft balancing system at internal and external stations and providing aircraft fuel service for Arab and foreign carriers at Baghdad Airport. Hassan added, "The technical staff started maintaining and updating the electronic reservation system for flights to all international and domestic destinations after a long hiatus due to a defect in the company's systems."
He pointed to "returning 9 different planes to service out of 20 parked planes," expressing his hope "to complete maintenance operations within the specified timeframes, while adhering to all internationally approved regulations in maintaining and maintaining them to return to work within the national carrier's fleet."
