The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs expected, on Wednesday, to include one million new families of applicants on the electronic platform within the 2023 general budget.
The Assistant Director General of Social Protection, Abd al-Rahman al-Mansouri, said, "The ministry began the registration of applicants on the electronic platform on August 22, and the window was closed on November 22, and the number of applicants reached more than two million and 700 thousand on the social protection network."
He added, "Work is continuing to conduct the process of intersecting the names of the applicants, in cooperation with the ministries of the state, the Bureau of Financial Supervision, the Real Estate Registration Department and the security ministries to sort out those who are not included due to the availability of a second salary," noting that "the process of intersecting the data will take from 10 to 15 days." .
He continued, "The applicants on the electronic platform are distributed throughout the Iraqi governorates, and their names will be intersected, after which field surveys of the applicants will be carried out by two thousand researchers affiliated with the Ministry."
He pointed out that "the applicant on the electronic platform will fill out a special form in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and the Social Protection Authority to determine those covered by the subsidy," noting that "the applicants' forms will be sent to the Ministry of Planning in the form of meals, and the audits will not take long in the ministry."
He noted that "the inclusion of these numbers is linked to the next general budget 2023," pointing out that "the ministry called for an increase in the ceiling of financial allocations to 8 trillion in the 2023 budget to include all beneficiaries within social protection, including the beneficiary families currently," noting that "if 8 trillion is allocated The ministry can include one million new families of applicants on the electronic platform.
He stressed that "the number of families benefiting from social protection in the ministry currently reaches one million and six hundred thousand beneficiaries."
