Al-Sudani criticizes his predecessor's policies regarding the dollar: they were not at the required level

Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, criticized, on Tuesday, the policies of the former Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi regarding the price of the dollar, describing it as not at the required level.
Al-Sudani said in an interview with the state-owned Al-Iraqiya channel, which was followed by Shafaq News agency, that "the measures of the Central Bank and the previous government were not at the level required to maintain the price of the dollar."
He added, "There is no decision to raise the exchange rates of the dollar," noting that "the official price of the dollar is still 1450 dinars in the Central Bank of Iraq."
He continued, "The dollar is available and available at the official rate for every businessman and citizen, and that international standards have led to a rise in exchange rates, and this is a memorandum signed with the Central Bank two years ago."
He explained that "these standards to control the movement of money transfer and that the previous government and the procedures of the Central Bank and banks were not prepared for these standards."
He pointed out that "the smuggling of currency out of Iraq is a fait accompli and this has been a chronic problem for years."
