More than 100 days have passed since the life of the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, and it is still difficult to evaluate its performance in light of the complex political situation, and a government program that needs to be implemented in light of the absence of the general budget and the increase in the exchange rate of the dollar.
The most prominent promises of the Sudanese government were: restricting weapons to the state, combating financial and administrative corruption, addressing the poverty and unemployment crises, raising the value of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar and other foreign currencies, ending the presence of the army and armed factions in cities, and carrying out reforms in the economic, financial and service sectors.
Member of Parliament Raad al-Dahlaki said in an interview with "Al-Sabah" that "current and previous political accumulations and conflicts have greatly affected the program of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani," stressing the government's need for "all forms of support during the next stage."
Al-Dahlaki expressed his hope that "Al-Sudani will have a clear imprint during these 100 days," noting that "the prime minister was very preoccupied with political side conflicts, which led to poor government performance," adding that "nevertheless, Al-Sudani needs support, time and pause, and that The government is free from restrictions and the steps are clear."
He added, "The crisis of the rise of the dollar afflicted the government and weakened it in front of the street, as everyone knows that trust is almost shaky and non-existent between the government and the citizen, and the high exchange rate of the dollar increased this gap."
For his part, the head of the Parliamentary "Rights" bloc, Saud Al-Saadi, said that "Parliament's duty is to evaluate and hold accountable, but the current political circumstance imposed itself on government performance."
Al-Saadi said, in an interview with "Al-Sabah": "In general, the current political atmosphere and climate imposes itself on the overall government performance," noting that "although the performance was relatively good with some observations and indicators here and there, but we cannot evaluate objectively and professionally." In just 100 days, we can identify some positive indicators and a group of negative indicators.
He added, "The nature of the circumstance and the tumultuous political climate in Iraq left their impact on all areas of life and also on executive performance and political performance in general," stressing that "our duty as members of the House of Representatives is to continue monitoring, evaluation and accountability, and we will not leave our job, but every place has an article." According to Saadi.
