Discussions about the budget and the mechanisms that were followed in writing it, as well as the measures taken regarding the dollar crisis, dominated the meeting of the coordination framework that was held in the office of the leader of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani.
The framework said in a statement, "He held a meeting this evening in Haider al-Abadi's office, in the presence of the Prime Minister. Developments in the political and security scene were discussed, in addition to discussing the federal budget file that the Council of Ministers intends to submit to the House of Representatives for approval."
According to the statement, the Prime Minister gave "a detailed explanation of the mechanisms on the basis of which the federal budget was drawn up and the extent of its compatibility with the government program," in addition to "the dialogues that the Central Bank of Iraq conducted with the US Federal Bank in Istanbul two days ago and the reform packages issued by the Central Bank of Iraq." Pointing out that "the treatments offered by the Central Bank come within the process of financial and banking reform."
On the other hand, the meeting discussed "governmental measures to reduce the effects of exchange rate fluctuations on the poor and marginalized segments, as well as the upcoming visit of the Iraqi delegation to Washington headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to complement the Istanbul meetings," according to the statement.
