Wadih Al-Handal, Chairman of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, member of the Board of Directors of the Tamkeen Fund, announced his support for the initiative of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, to plant 5 million trees, stressing that the green house established by the Fund will support this initiative by planting 500,000 trees worldwide. Al-Handal said, in a press statement, "We appreciate the great efforts launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani to confront desertification and climate change by launching an initiative to plant 5 million trees throughout Iraq from the land of Basra."
He pointed out that "the Green House, which was established by the Tamkeen Fund, which is supervised by the Central Bank and the Association of Private Banks, will plant 500,000 trees throughout Iraq, in support of the Prime Minister's initiative to combat desertification."
He stressed that "the private sector contributes to supporting the state's efforts to confront the risks of climate change, as private banks are implementing the Central Bank's initiative to support clean energy in homes."
