A member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Representative Salem Al-Anbuge, affirmed, on Saturday, his support for conducting a transparent investigation into the leaking of pictures of detainees in Diyala.
Al-Anbuge said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "Achieving security stability is a priority in Iraq, but with guaranteeing human rights in dealing with detainees in terms of that he is not involved until proven guilty, and the judiciary is the final judge in issuing fair decisions."
He added, "The leaking of some pictures of the detainees after the recent imposition of law operation was painful and shocking to public opinion in Diyala and sparked negative reactions from clan and social elites," noting that he "supports conducting a transparent investigation to find out who leaked them to the communication platforms."
He pointed out that "the leaking of pictures of any detainee in a way that violates his rights is unacceptable, especially since he is still under investigation."
