The Iraqi Women Empowerment Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said that it is working to increase the participation of women in decision-making and leadership positions in the country.
The director general of the department, Dr. Yusra Karim, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": "The trend now indicates an increase in the participation of women in decision-making positions and leadership positions, as well as in oversight and supervisory committees, which leads to a decrease in the rate of corruption because they are less involved in corruption, as well as Reduced bribery and nepotism. She added that "choosing a woman to be part of the work as a mother falls on her with the task of consolidating the values of national integrity in the hearts of generations and strengthening the system of the anti-corruption strategy, in addition to consolidating the values of equality, citizenship, honesty and trust, and upholding the value of knowledge, work, honor and integrity."
Karim explained that women have a role and influence in society, and that the strength and determination that women possess, along with the provision of a social and cultural incubator that can protect women so that they can integrate them to make double efforts in confronting corruption and their role in reporting, filing complaints and participating in all efforts to combat corruption, so that they realize that their role and contribution will improve The level of services provided to them, and will contribute to enhancing access to their rights, advancing the wheel of social justice, equality, equal opportunities and work.
And she indicated that the department has prepared a code of conduct for internal security, and that work is underway to prepare a code of conduct for reform departments and employees of the Ministry of Justice, and these measures reduce corruption.
