    Baghdad: Rola is confident

    The Department of Women Empowerment in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is preparing to prepare the national strategy for Iraqi women to achieve fruitful results for women during the next seven years.
    Dr. Yousra Karim Mohsen, director general of the department, said: "This strategy is in line with the sustainable development goals, with the participation of all ministries, opinion-holders, civil society organizations and legislative bodies, to set the most important goals and priorities that can achieve fruitful results for women in the coming years."
    She added, "As for women's economic empowerment, we are in the process of developing policies for financial inclusion and entrepreneurship, as well as preparing gender-responsive budgets, and this comes within the Mashreq initiative with the Bank."

    And she added, "The department is now working within the second phase of women's peace and security plans, which was launched in 2021 and will continue until 2024, as the evaluation report was launched, which confirmed that there has been progress, especially in the field of women's protection in providing services and economic empowerment for vulnerable groups by ministries." Noting that "the government's achievements in this regard have received distinguished reactions from the United Nations."
    She indicated that the constituency had previously completed a plan to empower women politically during the last elections, which culminated in the victory of 96 female candidates, thus exceeding
    (quota).
