The Minister of Environment, Eng. Nizar Amedi, during his speech at the Nevsky Conference in St. Petersburg, said that the Iraqi government is continuing to implement plans, programs and projects to confront climate change.
The Iraqi government will continue to implement plans, programs and projects to confront climate change and work to integrate the document of national contributions for climate change into the national development plans for the year 2023-2028 and generalize climate action to all sectors as an important priority.
This was stated in the speech of the Minister of Environment, Eng. Nizar Amedi, during his participation in the Tenth Vinsky International Conference on Environment and Climate Change in St. Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Federation.
The Minister of Environment, Nizar Amidi, stressed the interest of the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Environment on the importance of activating serious cooperation between the ministry, international organizations and the international community for participatory work and mutual support to develop plans, programs and strategies to ensure optimal implementation of policies and projects.
It is worth noting that the delegation of the Republic of Iraq, headed by the Minister of Environment, included a high-level parliamentary delegation represented by the participation of the head of the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee, Majid Al-Shinkali, and a number of committee members, in addition to the technical deputy of the Ministry of Environment. Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi, which embodies the Ministry's keenness on participatory work and concerted national efforts to implement common visions and ideas to meet the challenges of the current stage.
