    Today, Friday, the Arab Electronic Payment Company confirmed the conclusion of 100 contracts with government agencies and the installation of 1,500 electronic payment devices in government institutions and private sector facilities, in response to the directives of the Prime Minister and the decisions of the Central Bank to generalize the payment process.
    The company's delegated director, Haider al-Obeidi, told the official news agency (Baghdad Today): "In light of the Prime Minister's directives and the decisions of the Central Bank, the electronic payment process was launched with a large group of state ministries on the first of June."
    He added, "Iraq was missing the government's direction to activate the electronic payment process in a systematic and organized way through specific dates, and we, as electronic payment companies, aspired to launch such a direction from a long time ago, and yesterday we initiated these directives and published our services in Baghdad and the provinces from north to south."
    He continued, "Most of the electronic payment companies have deployed payment devices in ministries and institutions, and we have achieved partnerships, and the fact that state departments are positively motivated towards moving towards electronic payment, and any newly launched project in which obstacles appear will be overcome."
    He pointed out that "the process needs to educate and raise awareness to push citizens to leave cash payment and move towards electronic payment, and the issue needs to expand access to payment cards and devices for it in shops, commercial centers, malls, pharmacies and beauty centers, and we cooperate with those facilities by signing contracts to install POS devices to be available to all Citizens are like the rest of the world.
    And Al-Obeidi indicated that "we have concluded agreements with 15 ministries, and we have contracts with different governorates such as Baghdad, Basra, Diyala and Salah al-Din. We were able to sign more than 100 contracts and we started installing more than 1,500 devices in all governorates in the public and private sectors."
    He pointed out that "the focus was initially on the government sector as well as the private sector in commercial centers and the deployment of electronic payment devices so that the citizen can use the Qi Card in the simplest way to shop and purchase his daily details."
