Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani confirmed, on Thursday, that his government has made every effort to reach an agreement with the federal government regarding the region's share of the country's general financial budget.

Barzani said, during his meeting with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, "We stressed that we will exert all our efforts to reach an agreement with the federal government within the framework of the constitution, with the aim of protecting the rights and financial entitlements of the region, and we will not accept any violation of our rights."

At the meeting, which was attended by the US Consul General in Erbil Irvin Hicks, they discussed the need to solve problems between the region and the federal government under the umbrella of the constitution and respect for agreements.

The main axis of the meeting included discussing the Kurdistan Region's share of the federal budget.

With regard to the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, the two sides agreed on the need to hold the Kurdistan Parliament elections as soon as possible.
