The Ministry of Industry and Minerals reported its continuation of the initiative to support young graduates seeking work through the General Directorate of Industrial Development.
The Ministry’s spokesman, Doha Al-Jubouri, said in an interview with Al-Sabah, followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that “Industry and Minerals has an initiative to support young graduates looking for work through the General Directorate of Industrial Development. It was launched in the year 2016 and is distributed among various governorates, and these projects provide support.” For young people to establish it, and it includes facilities for a vacation under establishment,” adding that “the initiative includes reducing the fees for granting the license to approximately 90% and other facilities related to import licensing and exemption from customs duties.”
Al-Jubouri explained that “some young graduates established their projects on lands belonging to the Ministry of Industry and within its own formations, and there are other projects established on lands outside the framework of the Ministry,” indicating that “facilities are provided on an ongoing basis in case the project needs support and in the event of addressing any external party, such as health care.” And municipalities, and the General Directorate of Industrial Development addresses the concerned authority for the purpose of industrial registration.
She continued, “The Ministry supports the holding of many joint courses with international organizations such as (UNIDO, WIPO, GEZ) and other organizations specialized in this matter and all of these initiatives for the purpose of introducing young people to how to establish industrial projects.”
