The Ministry of Electricity confirmed its keenness to diversify energy and gas sources, noting that the final formula and time for supplying Turkmen gas have not been determined yet.
Ministry spokesman, Ahmed Musa, said, “The step to import gas from Turkmenistan confirms the government’s seriousness in resolving the issue of electricity and gas scarcity.”
He added, "The Ministry of Electricity and government directives are keen to diversify energy and gas sources."
He stated, "The strategic and optimal solution is what the government is currently working on by exploiting the national gas fields."
He stated that "the amount of gas that was initially agreed upon is 25 million cubic meters, and this number can be increased or decreased according to the needs of the system."
