    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani affirmed, on Sunday, Baghdad's keenness to develop bilateral relations with Islamabad, during his meeting with Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf.
    A statement from the Media Office of the Council of Ministers, received by Al-Iqtisad News, stated that “during the meeting, ways to strengthen Pakistani-Iraqi relations were discussed, and areas for developing them at various levels, as well as enhancing military cooperation between the two countries. The meeting also witnessed discussion of efforts to resume the work of the committee.” The Iraqi-Pakistani joint venture, whose work has been suspended for a while.” 
    The statement added, "The meeting touched on the escalation of the situation in Gaza, the worsening humanitarian situation, and the bombing that affected civilians, hospitals, and shelter centers, in violation of international law," stressing, "the importance of action by Arab and Islamic countries and the entire international community to end the current events in Palestine."
    Al-Sudani pointed out, "Iraq is keen to develop relations with Pakistan and build a mutual partnership, for the benefit of the two friendly peoples, within Iraq's policy of establishing balanced relations based on mutual benefit and economic integration, as well as cooperation in the areas of combating terrorism."
