    The Parliamentary Investment Committee called on the government to put the electric car project under its sights, especially as it is moving towards alternative and clean energy to reduce the pollution occurring. The committee also called on the government to support industrial cities and provide an appropriate environment for them.
    Committee member Muhammad Al-Zayadi said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “Every project has infrastructure, and if the government adopts the issue of clean energy, one of the advantages of that energy is the absence of the use of polluting fuel, and therefore the government must play its role, whether it is an encouraging role or one of By providing the infrastructure for the electric car project.”
    He added, "The issue of electric cars must have an electric truck at every port that charges cars or raw materials for this issue. It is also required that some conditions be provided for the success of this project or that some things be put in place that will make this project successful."
    He continued, "With great regret, the government is completely far removed from this issue, and we hope that in the coming days it will look at this matter seriously so that the wonderful idea will spread in the country and reduce the rate of pollution, and we will also be a party to preserving the ozone layer in the world."
    Al-Ziyadi stated, “Any investor can adopt this project, provided that the government reduces the percentage of profits and opens banks for such projects, because these projects have a greater benefit than bringing a private car, and these projects reduce environmental pollution and are useful in reducing the waste of the country’s money,” asking: “But can the infrastructure for projects like this succeed and be available in less than a year? Because the only obstacle to them is the infrastructure.”
    He called on the government to “look at bank loans for these projects and for the interest to be 1 or 2% in order to encourage citizens to buy and reduce polluting fuel. But what is unfortunate is that the government’s work is on one side and the banking and central bank’s work is on the other side, as there is no cooperation between them in order to Providing better services for a better government vision.”
    On the other hand, the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Investment Committee, Hussein Al-Sabari, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The industrial cities file was transferred from the committee to the Ministry of Industry, and the Minister of Industry assigned it, even though it is within the jurisdiction of the national investment bodies.”
    He added, "Industrial cities were much delayed due to infrastructure, the lack of a developer, and the lack of government support, even though Iraq is in dire need of these cities because they are considered one of the engines of the economy."
    He continued, "Most industrialists need infrastructure, electricity, and water, and most factories suffer from obtaining official approvals and red tape that hinder the process of restarting the factories," calling on the government to "support the establishment of industrial cities and take serious steps to initiate this by providing the appropriate environment and preparing the infrastructure."
