    Baghdad today - Baghdad
An informed source revealed today, Sunday (December 17, 2023), that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani will leave the capital, Baghdad, for Kuwait today.
The source told “Baghdad Today” that “ Al-Sudani called the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, to accompany him on the visit to Kuwait to offer his condolences for the death of Prince Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Yesterday afternoon, Saturday (December 16, 2023), the Kuwaiti Emiri Diwan announced the death of the Emir of the State, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the age of 86 years.
The Amiri Diwan said in a statement, “With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, who passed away to his Lord this afternoon, Saturday.”
The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, was admitted to the hospital at the end of last November due to an emergency health problem.
Sheikh Nawaf was named Crown Prince in 2006 before succeeding in 2020 his half-brother Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who died in September of that year at the age of 91.
Sheikh Nawaf was born in 1937. He is the fifth son of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the late Emir who led Kuwait from 1921 until his death in 1950.
Later after the death, the Kuwaiti Cabinet said, “We call Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Emir of Kuwait.”
