Arab News, an English-language Saudi network, revealed that the Arab Gulf governments, including the Saudi government, are heading to “monitor the performance of the Iraqi government” following the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani to Kuwait and his government’s intention to “develop Iraqi relations with the Gulf.”
The network made it clear, according to what it stated in a report it published on the twenty-third of November and translated by (Baghdad Today), that the performance of the Iraqi government “from this point onwards, will be under the supervision of Gulf governments and international parties interested in the relations that the Iraqi authorities establish with their Arab surroundings.”
And she continued, “Given the continued Iranian influence in Iraq, the Gulf states will monitor the speech that will be issued by Baghdad in the next stage, in addition to the activities of Iraqi ambassadors and diplomatic missions, to determine whether the government in Baghdad is actually serious about developing its relations with the Gulf, and to what extent it can to arrive,” she said.
The network also showed that the files of energy and diplomatic relations are viewed by the Gulf governments as the “base” on which they can proceed to establish “positive and fruitful” relations with the Iraqi authorities in Baghdad.
