Efforts to support oil and clean energy projects in the country

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, confirmed that there are great endeavors and efforts being made to implement energy projects in Iraq, especially oil ones, indicating that this approach comes with the aim of Supporting the economic reality in the country and enhancing public revenues, and while he revealed the allocation of 90 billion dinars to support clean energy projects, he indicated that Iraq will participate in the middle of next month in a meeting called by the European Union to discuss ways to develop development in the country.
Hindawi told “Al-Sabah”: “Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, discussed during a recent meeting, which included Deputy Prime Minister, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani, as well as representatives from the Central Bank, and a number of Government advisors, ways and mechanisms for financing energy projects, whether in dollars or dinars, and the priority of implementing
these projects.”
Hindawi pointed out that the attendees stressed the importance of implementing energy projects. Because of its priority in supporting the economy and the budget, everyone agreed to provide appropriate conditions for oil energy projects, indicating that the Council of Ministers decided to implement internal projects in dinars, which comes in the context of supporting the national currency.
The official spokesman also confirmed that there is a government trend to support and finance clean energy projects in state institutions, indicating that approximately 90 billion dinars have been allocated for these projects. In another context, Al-Hindawi explained that the Minister of Planning, in a meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, discussed the agreement to finance a number of projects, including the development of the private sector, indicating that the value allocated to finance this agreement amounts to 20 million dollars. Al-Hindawi pointed out that the agreement also included the reconstruction of a number of ancient sites in the provinces of Basra and Nineveh, pointing out that the meeting witnessed a discussion of Iraq’s participation in a meeting that will be held in the middle of next month at the European Union headquarters in Brussels, during which ways to develop the reality of development in Iraq will be discussed.
