The Kurdistan Region Tourism Authority announced on Sunday that more than 3 million and 500 thousand tourists from inside and outside Iraq visited the region during the current year.
This came in statistics published by the Authority on the number of tourists who visited the region during the year 2023, which is drawing to a close.
According to statistics, 25 percent of these tourists are foreigners, and they came to the region through tourist groups that came from the Arabian Gulf, Europe, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The Authority indicated in its statistics that one million, 85,877 tourists have visited Erbil so far, indicating that the numbers are likely to increase.
