Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The first joint maneuvers between the Iraqi and Iranian naval forces will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Shatt al-Arab corridor, which connects Basra Governorate with the Iranian city of Abadan, according to what the Iranian “Eskannews” news agency reported.
The agency said that these maneuvers, which are being held for the first time between the Iraqi and Iranian naval forces, come on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis in an American raid near Baghdad airport in early 2020.
Today, a coordination meeting was held to hold the naval maneuver between Iran and Iraq, in the presence of General Mehdi Hashemi, Commander of the Third Marine Region of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Forces, Ihsan Abbaspur, Deputy Governor of the city of Abadan, directors of the executive agencies, and military, police, and security officials in the city.
According to the Iranian agency, in this joint naval exercise, people living on the border between Iran and Iraq were invited to attend, in addition to the presence of the media and military forces
