Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Yasser Iskandar, confirmed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani had given the green light to make major amendments and changes in the Ministry of Defense.

Iskandar said in an interview with Al-Ma’louma, “There are several positives brought by change in the institutions of the Iraqi state, whether civil or security, the most prominent of which is the renewal of bloodshed, changing work mechanisms, and giving an opportunity for competent people to take the decision-making process in managing vital and complex files, especially security.”
He added, "Al-Sudani gave the green light to make important changes in the Ministry of Defense that will be announced soon in accordance with a comprehensive vision adopted by the government in order to revitalize its formations and headquarters in the security and military sector."
He pointed out that "the government is proceeding with the re-evaluation file, not only in security institutions, but also in service institutions, and there are important decisions that will be issued regarding changes in ministries and bodies."
The government of Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani made dozens of changes in important positions in several ministries, most of them service, in the past months.
