An informed political source suggested today, Thursday, that the large political blocs are leading movements towards the Sunni parties to resolve the position of Speaker of Parliament, suggesting that the crisis will be resolved after Eid al-Fitr.
The source told Mawazine News, “The failure to choose the Speaker of Parliament and the continuation of the Council’s work in its current form constitutes a violation of the Constitution, but there are movements by the political blocs in order to bring viewpoints closer between the various parties in the Sunni component.”
He promised that "not deciding the position of Speaker of Parliament will negatively affect the political process."
The source continued, “The Sunni parties have begun to feel the pressure, and these pressures could speed up the process of agreeing on a person to head parliament,” noting that “not deciding the position harms the political process.”
