    The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the registration of 80,000 private companies under the new retirement and social security law, while asking the Council of Ministers to include workers insured during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

    Ministry spokesman Najm Al-Aqabi said that the new retirement and social security law is one of the most important laws that have been enacted, because it contains many features that serve the private sector, but it has not been implemented in a real way, and the worker’s culture in understanding the law is still below the level to which it aspires. The Ministry, pointing out the need to activate the law and transfer the experiences of developed countries to the country, as well as the interaction of citizens working in the private sector with the law, according to the official Al-Sabah newspaper.



    He added that the Ministry launched an electronic application that allows workers and company owners to register for the purpose of inclusion in this law, which called on thousands of project owners and companies in the private sector to register, indicating that 80,000 companies have registered so far, pointing out that the Ministry is working to educate and educate workers about the advantages of the aforementioned law. , especially as it contains new paragraphs related to maternity leave, optional security, and other benefits that are similar to benefits in the public sector.

    Al-Aqabi noted that the Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Asadi, asked the Council of Ministers to include the insured workers with the Eidiya amount for Eid al-Fitr, amounting to 100 thousand dinars, stating that if approved, it will be released with the workers’ pension.
