The Parliamentary Labor and Social Affairs Committee revealed the details of the pension and social security law that Parliament will vote on tomorrow, Wednesday.
A member of the committee, Amir Al-Mamouri, said in a press interview seen by “Takadum” that: “The retirement and social security law includes very great privileges, and it is one of the important laws that must be completed and amended, and the current law approved by the Ministry of Labor was prepared in 1970, so the committee worked to approve and complete the law And set it up to serve and suit the private sector.
He added, "One of the most prominent privileges of the law is improving the retirement salary for workers, calculating it in a manner equal to the public sector, calculating service and transferring it from the private sector to the public for the purpose of bonuses, promotion and retirement."
Al-Maouri explained, “In the past, work in the private sector had to be under the umbrella of a specific company or institution, but now the optional guarantee clause has been added, whereby the self-employed, such as taxi drivers or private shops, can go to the guarantee and registration, and the service is calculated for him from the date of payment of the subscription.” .
He added, “The government participated in paying financial percentages for the Social Security Law, so that it will hand them over to pension contributions, which entail a rate of 5%.” Al-
Mamouri added, “The law also takes into account that women working in the private sector obtain maternity leave, just as every woman She has 3 children and 15 years of service, so her retirement is optional.”
And he stated, “The law included a table of ages that separates the families of retirees, and the employee has the right to purchase a five-year service only after paying the retirement contributions for it, as it was previously considered a problem in the law.”
Al-Mamouri concluded, “The law also includes a health guarantee and an insurance guarantee, as majeure circumstances such as the Corona virus are taken into account. Salaries can be paid for a certain period.”
The House of Representatives will hold its regular session tomorrow, Wednesday, to vote on the retirement and social security law for workers.
