    The Iraq Assets Recovery Fund announced today, Wednesday, the return of nearly 7 billion dinars to the state treasury, while indicating the return of more than (300) dunums of agricultural land and three real estates during the current year.

    The Vice Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, Ayman Daoud Salman, stated in a statement received by Al-Sumaria News, that “the Fund was able during the current year (2024) to disclose accounts of the Republican Guard in the previous regime amounting to (4,386,303,138) dinars, and the amount of (1,918,486) US dollars, which is The equivalent of (2,267,645,000) dinars from the account of the General Railway Company - Plan Projects, in the Rafidain Bank, and he was able to return the aforementioned amounts to the Ministry of Finance’s account opened at the Central Bank,” pointing out that “the amounts had previously been transferred to dormant accounts.”



    He added, "Based on the law of seizure and confiscation of movable and immovable property belonging to the pillars of the former regime, and after conducting investigation, auditing, and verifying the information received about the presence of agricultural lands still registered in the names of cronies of the former regime, a plot of agricultural land with an area of ​​(300) dunums was discovered and confiscated in the name of The so-called (Ali Hassan al-Majid) and his brothers in Kirkuk Governorate - Hawija District - Al-Multaqa District, where the land was re-registered in the name of the Ministry of Finance.”

    He pointed out, "A forgery and sale of three residential homes in the Al-Mansour area in Baghdad belonging to the Chief of Staff of the Army in the former regime (Hussein Rashid Al-Takriti) was uncovered."

    He continued, "The floors, which have an area of ​​2,210 square meters, were returned to the Ministry of Finance, and those who were negligent were referred to the Integrity Commission."

    He stated that "the Fund returned to the Ministry of Finance an agricultural property with an area of ​​​​5 dunums, registered in the name of (Abdel Fattah Muhammad Amin), a former member of the Qatari leadership."

    He stressed that "the return of the aforementioned properties was based on the provisions of Law No. (72 of 2017), which includes the seizure and confiscation of movable and immovable property belonging to the pillars of the previous regime, in coordination with the relevant authorities."
