    [size=45]The Iraq Money Recovery Fund, headed by Judge (Haidar Hanoun), head of the Federal Integrity Commission, concluded a cooperation agreement with the Office of Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing. To exchange information related to combating money laundering and recovering Iraqi funds abroad.[/size]
    [size=45]The cooperation agreement will facilitate the exchange of information between the two parties, especially those related to the recovery of Iraqi funds abroad, and will contribute to mitigating money laundering and terrorist financing operations, and the advancement of an Iraqi reality that is protected from money laundering crimes and the pursuit and follow-up of those wanted by the Iraqi authorities, as well as the recovery of smuggled Iraqi funds.[/size]
    [size=45]The cooperation agreement between the two parties comes in line with the Iraqi constitution and Iraq's obligations towards international organizations related to combating corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing, which require concerted national efforts. To confront these crimes and combat their advanced methods.[/size]
    [size=45]The Iraq Money Recovery Fund, which was established pursuant to Law No. (9 of 2012) (amended), aims to recover the financial rights of Iraq that were illegally obtained by third parties. as a result of misuse of the oil-for-food program, blockade, smuggling, economic sabotage, or exploitation of the sanctions imposed on Iraq at the time; To achieve financial gains at the expense of the Iraqi people and to receive any compensation due to the Republic of Iraq as a result of any legitimate and recognized decision.[/size]
    [size=45]It is noteworthy that Article (9- Third) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Law No. (39) of 2015 stipulates (exchanging information related to combating money laundering and terrorist financing with the relevant authorities in the state departments and the public sector and coordinating with them in this regard) .[/size]
    [size=45]On the sixth of November, the fund urged all citizens, whether inside Iraq or residing outside it, to cooperate in order to recover Iraq’s money and return it to the state treasury, launching major concessions in this field that may be considered the first of its kind at a rate of (10 percent), provided that It does not exceed (5) million dollars of the recovered money, specifying the windows for calling the number (5559) from inside Iraq, and from outside Iraq via the WhatsApp number (+9647828881144), as well as by e-mail ( info@ifar.gov.ig ).[/size]
