[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, met in his office today, Wednesday, with a number of heads of Chinese companies operating in Iraq, in the presence of the Chairman of the Investment Committee, Hassanein Al-Khafaji, and the Vice-Chairman of the Oil and Gas Committee, Ali Mashkour.
Al-Mandalawi confirmed, according to a statement from his media office: “Iraq is witnessing competition between major, reputable international companies for investment in various fields and sectors,” expressing support for the House of Representatives, through its presidency, relevant parliamentary committees and all its members, by legislating laws that contribute to encouraging the influx of reputable companies into the country. While he called on Chinese companies for "long-term investment opportunities and sustainable joint cooperation."
The statement added: “During the meeting, they discussed the projects that Chinese companies are working on implementing in the fields of energy, infrastructure, roads, bridges, etc., and the rates of achievement achieved in them, as well as the challenges they face, and Al-Mandalawi pledged to overcome these obstacles and address them with the relevant authorities.” To[/rtl]
