Iraqi Airways is preparing to adopt electronic ticketing system

Passengers will be aboard Iraqi Airlines before the end of the year, booking airline tickets electronically via the Internet or by phone instead of taking the trouble to go to offices and agents, said company officials ''.

"This project is now under study, hopefully before the end of the year, achieved after completing all requirements, including the use of credit cards".
He noted that the new system would facilitate and speed up the booking process to strengthen the trend towards reliance on electronic transactions to reduce time and money.
Efforts to improve servicesThe move is part of the company to develop its services to passengers and compete with international airlines, according to Khafaji, who noted the company's determination soon opening lines and new offices in several capitals and cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Zagreb, Oslo, Stuttgart and Tbilisi Malmö and Minsk.
Other projects that have found their way to the company's agenda, a project to build a Center in Baghdad, Khafaji, who said it would be the largest of its kind in the region.
"We hope this Center accomplish within 18 months from now will be assigned to train all cadres of pilots and aviation engineers, technicians and flight attendants in order to equip them with skills and experience in their fields."
And the intention of the company to hire more flight attendants, Khafaji said the company was "in connection with the hiring of 200 Iraqi host and advanced training in the practice of the profession and endogenous capacity-building".
Meanwhile, the Director of the Iraqi civil aviation authority, Captain Nasser Hussein Bandar said in the company's development plans also include rebuilding Iraqi air fleet, adding that "the company has today 19 modern passenger aircraft, hoping in the next few years enhanced fleet by 42 aircraft.
In turn, the MP Ehsan Al-Awadi of the parliamentary services Committee, in a statement to Reuters, Iraqi Airways went towards the introduction of electronic ticketing.
Awadi said, "it's a good move, and we wish the Iraqi Airways to juggle in this endeavour and that the system would benefit not only passengers, but also because of the large role in supporting its activities and its interaction with its customers and strengthen its presence among international airlines".
He called Al-Awadi company cuts suitable for selling prices of airline tickets on flights that take such step would ease the burden on citizens, particularly travel costs to passengers for treatment or study.
