The director of the Department of Research and Development in the Ministry, and the representative of Iraq Foundation (Scopas Global) Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majid, in a statement to the "morning", said the ministry has prepared a plan to improve the Iraqi universities level within the international standards, which will oblige universities out.
He explained that the criteria include: written and published a booklet on the sedate journals and scientific publishing, with giving lectures about the methods sober in nine universities publishing, as well as to publish a file on the Web site contains 34 thousand magazine within the databases (Scopas), in addition to increase the dissemination of lectures on sites Electronic briefing them, with sections and bind the people of quality assurance in colleges organizing seminars and workshops to educate publishing in sober journals.
Abdul Majid pointed out that his department embarked on the beginning of this year , in coordination with one of the PhD students of Iraqis in Britain, approached those responsible for the management of databases (Scopas) to integrate multiple per university accounts, noting that the University of Baghdad , for example , has 24 accounts of different names, leading to the loss and dispersion research and certification have thus lack of access to its location it deserves.
He noted that as a result of making Iraq a number of measures, the index jumped from rank 73 to rank 80, noting that efforts will continue to include all universities and colleges.
