1000 Indians die of swine flu virus within 8 months

More than 900 people have died of H1N1 flu since the beginning of this year, the Health Ministry said.
Ministry officials said the figure was three times the number of victims of swine flu last year at the same time, less than the 1786 deaths recorded in 2015.
According to the ministry, the largest number of deaths recorded during that period was received from the state of Maharashtra 409 and Gujarat with 190 deaths.
A statement from the government of the state of Gujarat that at least 50 people died of swine flu in Gujarat last week, raising the death toll to 242 cases. Sf
