Moscow warns Washington against the consequences of escalation on the Korean Peninsula

Russia warned the United States against the consequences of the escalation on the Korean Peninsula and called on Washington to move from the language of threat and intimidation to negotiations.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his US counterpart, Rex Tilerson, discussed the tension on the Korean Peninsula by telephone.
"Russia and the United States have united positions toward North Korea's violation of Security Council demands for nuclear missile capability development," Lavrov said. Lavrov reiterated Russia's rejection of Washington's hostile rhetoric toward Pyongyang, which would increase tension on the peninsula. As well as the strengthening of military preparations in the region. It was stressed the need to accelerate the transition from the language of sanctions to the language of negotiation.
