The investor Ahmed Sadiq Kanani said in an interview for Alsumaria News that "there are extortion operations by us using the media and social networking sites in order to obtain financial gains and try to thwart projects that serve the country," noting that "the survival of these things would be Iraq An environment of displacement of investment instead of being attractive country despite the need for large Iraq for such investment projects. "

"Most of the local and international investment companies prefer to invest outside Iraq because of the blackmail they are subjected to," Kanani said, calling on the prime minister to intervene immediately to stop such things. 

For his part, investor Javad Hassanein said that "what is happening today of blackmail to investors will hinder the wheel of construction and development and delay the recovery of the Iraqi economy." He pointed out that "Iraq is the only country that has not yet put an end to these operations, which would delay these projects." 

He Hassanein said that "the Iraqi investment law stressed the need to provide the appropriate conditions for investors and companies to promote the economic reality of Iraq through these projects," and called on "Prime Minister Haider Abadi to reveal the parties that try to blackmail their companies and the maximum penalties against them."

Many of the investment projects have been stopped as a result of extortion from some political parties to get some financial gains, which led to the loss of Iraq to millions of dollars that could have benefited Iraq.
