    Turkish Prime Minister Ben Ali Yildirim confirmed the existence of "contacts" with the Iraqi government on the implementation of a joint military operation on the border. 
    "Military operations will be carried out in northern Iraq as soon as necessary," Yildirim said, according to a state-run Anatolian official in the form of Awajel. 
    "We are in close contact with the Iraqi government on this issue, whether to eliminate a totally provocative presence in the region or on Bai Ka Ka, and I hope we will develop cooperation to a better level in the near future." 
    Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gaooshoglu said on Monday that Turkey and Iraq would take joint steps against the Kurdistan Workers' Organization. "Iraq will not feel safe with the organization on its soil," he said.
    Despite the absence of any official comment to Iraq on this information, the Committee on Security and Defense of the Iraqi parliament refused on Friday the statements of Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawishoglu, which he said that the Iraqi and Turkish sides intend to conduct a cross-border military operation after the elections of 2018 
    . "This talk is unacceptable and any military actions within the Iraqi border is an excess of Iraqi sovereignty. The Iraqi government represented by the Foreign Ministry is concerned with responding in a clear and clear manner." 
    "On the other hand, the Iraqi government should prevent the presence of any opposition forces to neighboring countries so as not to give countries arguments for foreign interference," Gharrawi said. 
    He said border control on Iraq "is a role that must be played by the Iraqi government within the country only and not any other country, whatever coordination with them is high level."
