Shafaq News/ A government source in Diyala announced today, Saturday, that the rate of trade exchange at the Mandali border crossing with Iran has risen to 200%, pointing at the same time to the continuation of violations and the absence of control over the exchange operations.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "The rate of influx and exit of trucks and vehicles from the Mandali port, east of Diyala, increased from 50 trucks as it was to 150 trucks per day amid the absence of regulatory control by the competent authorities."
And he indicated that "the outlet returned to the conditions prior to the visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi in the middle of 2020, to lawlessness and the weakness of customs procedures."
Diyala governorate includes two border crossings for trade exchange with Iran, the first in Al-Mandhiriya, east of Khanaqin, and the second in the eastern Mandali district, 95 km east of Baquba, and the Iraqi government closed the two outlets during the Corona pandemic from March until July 2020.
