The General Company for Ports of Iraq clarified, today, Thursday, its measures towards the sinking and wrecked ships in the Shatt al-Arab, while referring to the movement to save the fish wealth.
The representative of the Governor of Basra in the local government of Al-Faw district, Walid Al-Sharifi, said, "The Shatt Al-Faw is one of the important pillars in the Faw district and is a major crossing for ships coming from the UAE loaded with goods of different sizes and types in terms of containers loaded with them, which include electrical materials and other miscellaneous goods that are Heading towards Abu Flus Port in Abu Al Khasib District.
Al-Sharifi added, "The Shatt Al-Faw is a main source of fisheries and must be protected in terms of not polluting the fish environment, and the Faw's residential environment by raising the sinking and ships that do not work to restore the aesthetic of the Faw Corniche, and there are vigorous and joint efforts to solve this file."
