, Director General of the Customs Authority, Shaker Al-Zubaidi, stressed today, Thursday, the importance of following up on legal procedures related to "abandoned and accumulated" funds.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the media of the Customs Authority said, "The Director-General of the General Customs Authority, Shaker Al-Zubaidi, held a meeting today that included directors of customs areas and directors of investigation and anti-smuggling departments. The meeting was attended by an assistant director general, the director of inspection and internal control, and the director of human resources. At the authority’s headquarters, the meeting included an emphasis on activating the role of the investigation and anti-smuggling departments and upgrading the work entrusted to them to the required level.
Al-Zubaidi pointed out, according to the statement, "the importance of following up on the work of all departments of the authority and the performance of its employees in a manner that rises to the importance of customs by maximizing revenues, in addition to following up on legal procedures for abandoned and stockpiled funds and the mechanism of selling them, as these funds contribute to the provision of customs revenues."
Al-Zubaidi stressed that "the director of the customs area will be directly responsible for the departments associated with him and their employees through a large and effective evaluation of the work in order to find out the activities and failures and ways to address them." Ended 29/N33
