    Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm stressed, on Wednesday, the importance of proceeding with the completion of the project to develop and rehabilitate the five entrances to the capital, Baghdad, in line with the importance of these entrances, which represent an "important service and development addition" to Baghdad and the provinces.
    According to a statement by the Ministry of Planning, this came during the Minister presiding over a joint meeting between the Baghdad Governorate and the Ministry of Planning, and representatives of the companies implementing the project, attended by the Governor of Baghdad Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning Dr. Maher Hammad Johan, the Director General of Sector Planning Muhammad Latif, the Deputy Governor of Baghdad and a number of From officials in the governorate and the Ministry of Planning, the meeting was devoted to discussing the reality of work in the project to develop the entrances to the capital, and the problems and challenges surrounding the implementation of the project.
    The Minister of Planning stressed, "to remove all conflicts that hinder the completion of the project, and to follow up on the work of the implementing companies, which should have good capabilities commensurate with the size and importance of the project."
    He pointed out, "The ministry's endeavor to provide the appropriate conditions for the completion of the project to rehabilitate the entrances according to the designs prepared for this purpose, and to hold the implementing agencies accountable, in case they delay or violate the timing, mechanisms and level of achievement."
    For his part, the Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, reviewed "the reality of work in implementing the development project for the main entrances to the capital," pointing to "a number of challenges that impede the implementation process, especially those related to the existence of conflicts represented in electric power transmission lines and water networks that extend within the approaches The entrances, praising at the same time, the efforts and support of the Ministry of Planning for the province to complete this project of high importance for Baghdad and the provinces.
    The meeting witnessed a presentation of the plans and designs for developing the entrances to the capital and the levels of achievement in each of these entrances.
