Rafiq Al-Salihi, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes, warned of the catastrophic consequences that may befall the agricultural sector unless the matter is remedied by finding national plans to save the agricultural sector.
Al-Salihi said that the agricultural sector has been suffering from unjustified neglect for years, indicating that agriculture is linked to water, the food of citizens and their interests, and it must receive attention, support and care from the competent government agencies.
He added, that the agricultural sector needs a clear national policy developed by the specialists, indicating that the country's agricultural basket is facing major problems that have led to the deterioration of the agricultural conditions and great losses.
Al-Salihi pointed out that the agricultural sector in all its sects is suffering and must intervene quickly in order to solve the dilemmas that lead to the formation of the new government, secure support for farmers and peasants, and save the agricultural file.
