The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, called, on Tuesday, to support the elected President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate, while details about Iraq's financial situation during her reign and others related to the issue of corruption related to the file of tax trusts were clarified.
Cabinet spokesman and Minister of Culture Hassan Nazim said during a press conference, which was followed by "Mawazine News": "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi confirmed in today's session of the Council of Ministers his support for the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, and the Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and called on the political forces to grant the designate freedom to choose his work team.”
He added, "The current government has worked for about two years without budgets and has started to work since the first day to restore balance in the country's economy and launched the white paper for economic reform, and Iraq now possesses 134 tons of gold and $85 billion in cash reserves."
Nazim continued, "The government is the one who exposed the issue of corruption in the Tax Authority, and it is currently in the custody of the judiciary. Also, what was allocated to the Prime Minister's office under the emergency support law was not spent at all, and it is not related to office furniture as it is rumored, but rather to compensation for the martyrs and the wounded and securing the Iraqi borders."
