    The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, announced, on Tuesday evening, the date for the completion of the large Al-Faw port overlooking the Gulf, with all its details.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Fartousi said in a televised interview: “The receipt of the first phase of the port of Faw project will be next year,” describing it as “an important link linking the Middle East and Europe.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, "The five berths project in the port will end in September 2024, and all its projects will be completed in August 2025," noting that "the five berths will handle 3 million containers."[/size]
    [size=45]"We are determined to operate the port ahead of time, and we will receive the first stage of infrastructure in terms of the navigational canal, berths, and the reception of ships, and it will be preceded by the preparation stage for the port," Al-Fartousi stressed.[/size]
    [size=45]And he continued, "This year, we will announce the mechanism by which we are proceeding to operate the port," reiterating his emphasis, "by completing all the port's joints during the next two years."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out, "The submerged tunnel in the port is intended for the passage of trucks, oil tankers, etc., and it connects the port of Faw with the port of Umm Qasr."[/size]
    [size=45]Regarding the operation of the port, Al-Fartousi said: “Iraqi ports are managed in a joint operation manner, and we will stress that no operator will enter the port of Faw unless it has connections with international lines.”[/size]
    [size=45]He noted, "The dry canal in the port of Faw was called (Development Road), and it includes plans for several railways and roads."[/size]
    [size=45]He explained, "There are 90 berths planned for construction in the port, divided into 50 berths for containers, 15 for bulk cargo, and others for agricultural crops and other products."[/size]
    [size=45]And the director of the ports stressed, "The employment in the port of Faw will be local and foreign, and we expect that the Iraqi employment will be around 500 people."[/size]
