    Information / Baghdad..
The head of the Border Crossings Authority, Major General Omar Al-Waeli, confirmed, on Thursday, the continued flow of smuggled goods through the unofficial ports in the Kurdistan region, indicating that smuggling of goods will completely destroy the national economy.
Al-Waeli said in a televised interview followed by Al-Maalouma, "The smuggling file is very dangerous and threatens the Iraqi economy, and the outlets of the Kurdistan region witness smuggling of cigarettes and goods.">
He added, "The region's ports are not linked to the Federal Ports Authority, and the unofficial crossings in the region pose a threat to the Iraqi economy."
He pointed out that "the reconstruction of the ports is carried out through the governorates and the revenues generated, and that electronic governance has contributed to stopping many smuggling operations." End 25
