    {Politics: Al-Furat News}The Parliamentary Finance Committee, headed by Representative Atwan Al-Atwani and in the presence of its members, hosted today, Monday, the government team charged with communicating with representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding following up on the implementation of the region-specific articles in the federal general budget law for the year 2023.
    During the hosting, the team in charge provided a detailed explanation of the most important legal problems they faced during the discussion of implementing the budget law for the year 2023 with the delegation of the Kurdistan region.
    The members of the team stated that there are some legal problems in the implementation of the budget by the region, which were pointed out in the report of the Federal Office of Financial Supervision, based on the balance of reviews submitted by the Office of Financial Supervision and the Ministry of Finance in the region, including the failure to include a portion of imports, including the revenue of oil delivered to refineries within the region. Imports of gas oil delivered to power stations and other imports, in addition to the fact that the region exceeded its quota in the first 6 months of the current year based on the actual expenditure in the state’s general budget.
    The members presented some questions to the team members, including the legal basis for lending to the region despite the region not handing over its revenues to the federal government, and why the revenues were not deposited in the special account that was opened for this purpose.
    The members of the committee stressed during the meeting that the goal is to find effective solutions that enable the region to pay the salaries of its employees in the coming months, in addition to finding a legal solution that enables the region to fulfill the obligations it signed in four minutes with the government team.
