    Economy News - Baghdad
On Sunday, the official Iranian IRNA news agency quoted the head of the Iranian Customs Service, Mohammad Rezvanifar, as saying: The country’s non-oil foreign trade exceeded 54 billion dollars in the first half of the current year (the Iranian year began on March 21).
He added that Iranian exports reached 68 million tons worth $24.1 billion, with a quantitative growth of 29 percent and a price decrease of 2.6 percent compared to the previous corresponding period (2022). In contrast, imports amounted to 17.6 million tons, worth $30.4 billion, with a price growth of 11.6 percent and a quantitative growth of 6.8 percent.
Radwani also pointed out that the total volume of foreign trade (non-oil) reached $54.6 billion in the first half of the current fiscal year, with a volume of 85.3 million tons, with a price growth of 5 percent and a quantitative growth of 24 percent.
He added that exports of petrochemical products, which also include gas, amounted to 26.8 million tons, worth about 10.6 billion dollars, with a quantitative growth of 24 percent and a price decrease of about 14 percent due to the decline in the price of petrochemicals globally.
Rezvanifar confirmed that the main export markets for Iranian goods during the aforementioned period remained unchanged: China, Iraq, the Emirates, Turkey, and India.
On the other hand, the head of the Customs Authority confirmed that the volume of transit (transit transport) through Iran in the first half of the current year amounted to 7.7 million tons, an increase of 8.2% over the previous corresponding period of 2022.
