[size=45]Yesterday, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee held a meeting at the committee’s headquarters in the House of Representatives in the presence of its chairman and members to discuss a number of issues on the agenda. The head of the committee, Ali Al-Hamidawi, said in a statement received by Al-Mada:[/size]
[size=45]“The committee discussed what was reported by the media and social networking sites regarding the money seized by the Federal Integrity Commission and belonging to a company, according to what was reported by the Minister of Construction and Housing, Benkin Rekani.” Al-Hamidawi stressed that “the committee supports all legal government measures and will form a committee to investigate the facts, find out its circumstances, and reveal its merits.”[/size]
[size=45]Yesterday, Monday, the Minister of Construction and Housing, Benkin Rikani, issued a clarification regarding the arrest of a contractor who had withdrawn 9 billion dinars from an Iraqi bank. Rikani said, in a tweet on the (X) platform: “The Department of Roads and Bridges in the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities disbursed an advance amounting to 9 billion dinars to one of the contractors last Wednesday by means of a check, as is the case with all state institutions.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, “The contractor withdrew the amount from the bank on (last Sunday) and was arrested by the competent authorities to inquire about the source of the funds, and due to the many interpretations from the experts, it was necessary to note.”[/size]
