Shafaq News/ The Minister of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Region, Kamal Muslim, said on Sunday that the regional government imposed more taxes on similar imported agricultural products in order to protect and support the local product.
While hosting a discussion session on the sidelines of the third annual conference of Kurdistan Regional Government representatives held in Erbil, Muslim said, “In order to protect the local product of our farmers in the Kurdistan Region, the government decided to impose more taxes on similar products imported from abroad or, if necessary, It is prohibited to be imported.
He added: We are holding talks with the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, and we have made good progress in providing a fund to support exports of factories and local products in the Kurdistan Region.
